Dr Marcin Lindner
Head of the Team XB
Marcin comes from Pogorzela (Greater Poland). He studied at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, where in 2010 he completed Bachelor in Chemistry (under supervision of Prof. Bogdan Marciniec) and subsequently, in 2014, Master in Organic Stereochemistry developing a thesis under supervision of Prof Jacek Gawroński. Next, in 2012, he moved to the Institute of Nanotechnology, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany) to work as a young researcher in the group of Prof. Marcel Mayor https://www.int.kit.edu/mayor.php.
Meantime, Marcin was enrolled at the University of Basel https://mayor.chemie.unibas.ch/en/home/ (Switzerland) as a PhD student. Late, in 2016, He defended a PhD dissertation entitled “Tailor-made tetraphenylmethanes : from surface decoartion to 3D organic polymers” (magna cum laude).
In 2017 he returned to Poland to work at Selvita company (custom chemistry department) as Synthesis Specialist III. Upon short adventure in industry he came back to academia (Institute of Organic Chemistry, Polish Academy of Science) to work with Prof. Janusz Jurczak (2017-2018) and Prof. Karol Grela (2019).
In two 2019 Marcin won Sonata 14, while in 2020 Lider XI grant competitions. In 2021, Marcin was awarded by Fellowship of Polish Ministry of Science and Education for Young Outstanding Scientists
Currently, He is employed as assistant professor and appointed a head of the team XB at the IOC, PAS in Warsaw.
Hobby: spending the time with Wife Marta, and daughter Tosia, referring basketball games
Dr Eng. Krzysztof Bartkowski
POSTDOC Lider XI
Krzysztof comes from Legnica (Lower Silesia). He studied at the Wroclaw University of Technology, where in 2014 he completed Bachelor of engineering in Chemistry and subsequently in 2014 Master in Organic and Polymer Chemistry developing a thesis under supervision of Prof. Jadwiga Sołoducho. Next, he moved at the University of Wroclaw (2016) where he became PhD researcher student, working under supervision of Prof. Miłosz Pawlicki https://mjplab.org.
Krzysztof succeeded with an impressing experimental work within OPUS grant (NCN) “Tuning of the π-cloud in systems hybrid containing the trifyrin backbone (n.1.1) “. In September 2021 Krzysiek has defended his PhD thesis with honors.
He joined our group in January 2021 as researcher, while since 10.2021 d He was appointed a POST-DOC within Lider XI project.
Hobby: performing classical music
Dr Eng. Aleksandra Wierzba
POST-DOC Lider XI
Aleksandra comes from Głubczyce (Opole region). She studied at the Wroclaw University of Technology, where in 2013 she completed Bachelor of Engineering in Chemistry and subsequently, in 2014, Master in Organic and Polymer Chemistry (with Honors) developing a thesis under supervision of Prof.Dr Rafał Kowalczyk.
Afterwards, she moved to IOC PAS pursuing PhD in Organic Chemistry (with Honors) under supervision Prof. Dorota Gryko https://ww2.icho.edu.pl/gryko_group/, defending thesis entitled “Selective functionalization of vitamin B12 at the meso position and within the nucleotide loop”” (2018). Meantime, she also worked with Prof. Amy Palmer (BioFrontiers Institute, University of Colorado Boulder), Prof. Fabio Zobi (Department of Chemistry, University of Fribourg) within the frame of Etiuda Symfonia grant (NCN).
She joined our team in january 2021 as a POST-DOC working in project Lider XI. It worthy to mark that Aleksandra is a laurate of Bekker Programme (NAWA agency) and she is now at University of Colorado Boulder (USA).
Hobby: mountain hiking, musical theatre, choral music
MSc Jakub Wagner
He studied Nanostructures Engineering at the University of Warsaw, at the Faculty of Physics and Chemistry. In 2018, Jakub completed Bachelor in Chemistry, preparing his thesis under the supervision of Prof. Michał Chmielewski https://www.mchmielewski.pl.
Two years later, Jakub defended Master thesis (with Honors) upon fruitful time he spent in the group of Prof. Karol Grela https://www.karolgrela.eu working with new catalytic systems for stereoselective semihydrogenation of alkynes. Whereupon, Jakub joined our team as a young research associate to work within the frame of Sonata 14 project.
After successful admission of Warsaw4PhD Doctoral School https://warsaw4phd.eu/en/, Jakub is the very first PhD student in our team, developing his research within the frame of Sonata 14 project.
Hobby: ecology, psychology, watching light-emitting compounds 😉
Student of Chemistry
Józef in undergraduate student of Chemistry (2nd year) at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Warsaw. Józef begun his research activities in January 2021 (Sonata 14).
Wojtek is undergraduate student of Chemistry (4th year) at the Warsaw University of Techology. Wojtek begun his research activities in January 2021 (Lider XI).
Bartek is undergraduate student of Chemistry (5th year) at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Warsaw. Bartek begun his research activities in January 2021 (Lider XI).
Eng. Karolina Kęska
Karolina comes from Mazovia district and she joined our team in September 2020 to complete an experimental part of her engineering thesis working on the synthesis of building blocks for the synthesis of novel organic emitters.
She obtained Bachelor of engineering in Chemistry from Warsaw University of Technology in February 2021. She has carried on her research as a Master student in our Team (Lider XI).
Hobby: Skiing, yachting, climbing
